The School of Accounting launched an Accounting Idol Competition for our Accounting students this year and students stand in line to win over R16,000 in prizes. 

The competition was launched with a flash mob that took place on South Campus in the Taxation 3 lecture on Tuesday, 18 March at 14:35.

NEW PROGRAMMES OFFERED IN 2014:

We have introduced 2 new programmes for 2014.

Higher Certificate in Accountancy

  • This qualification will give access to learners who would not have direct access to diploma entry, the opportunity to study further in the field of accountancy.
  • After successful completion of the Higher Certificate in Accoutancy, students can leave the university to pursue careers as bookkeepers; while those with an average mark of 60% and higher in the Higher Certificate may apply for entry to the Diploma in Accountancy.

Diploma in Accountancy

  • This diploma prepares students for many careers in commerce and industry as well as private practice.
  • The diploma will provide students with a strong foundation in the core disciplines of accountancy.
  • Specialization occurs once the foundation is in place (e.g. further study in BTech).
